May 6th, 2024- August 1st, 2024 Summer hours will vary based on tutor availability. Because we have fewer tutors in the summer than in the spring/fall semesters, it is recommended that students make appointments well ahead of time. Summer appointments will be facilitated online via Microsoft Teams or asynchronously.

July 4th

in-person TUTORING

Please make an appointment on Unify via the online scheduling system. Also, make sure to arrive on time and bring assignment guidelines, draft, and rubric, if you have them.

If you need help getting started, Graduate Writing Consultants or Undergraduate Peer Tutors can work with you to understand an assignment, brainstorm, and outline. Start early and revise often.

virtual TUTORING

  • Check the availability above. Virtual tutoring is available for any session time. * Note-- GCSU is moving from Webex to Microsoft Teams. This program will be used for all virtual sessions.

Please make an appointment on Unify via the online scheduling system.  To access Microsoft Teams, log in to https://unify.gcsu.edu, click the "Start Here" tab, and then click on the Microsoft Teams button.

feedback via email / Asynchronous

  • Check availability above. Asynchronous appointments are available for any session time.

Please make an appointment on Unify via the online scheduling system. An appointment guarantees that a Writing Consultant will be available to provide feedback at the end of your appointment time. Make sure to send in your assignment directions, draft, and rubric by emailing writing.center@gcsu.edu at least three hours before your appointment time.

For this type of session, you do not meet with a consultant. It is recommended for later stages in the writing process. Please make an in-person or virtual appointment if you are early on in the writing process for better support more appropriate to that stage.
